Future prospects Getting qualified on the job means you work better and more effectively; it can set you up to move on to other roles in the business and you get to experience new and difficult challenges. Things to consider During your first year, normal hours of work are from 7.30am to 4pm, Mondays to Thursdays and 7.30am to 12.30pm on Fridays, with an unpaid lunch break (Mondays to Thursdays) of 30 minutes from 12.15pm to 12.45pm.

During your final three years, normal hours of work are 37 per week, from 8.30am to 5pm Mondays to Thursdays and 8.30am to 4.30pm on Fridays with an unpaid lunch break of one hour from 12.30pm to 13.30pm. However, this is dependent on the business your placement is in. Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.

The role will be in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services. This may require you to meet enhanced security and regular screening checks.

Successful applicants will be required to pass an online company assessment followed by college assessments at Chippenham College prior to their applications being progressed to final stage.

Please note that if you are also applying for a different apprenticeship within the company, a separate application for that apprenticeship will be required.
