    Desired qualifications
    • A-Levels in ICT/Business/Computing
    • Or an Apprenticeship in a similar subject (this must be at least the level below the planned programme)
    • Or an International Baccalaureate at level 3 in ICT
    • Or a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)
    • For any City and Guilds programmes, the learner must be 18 on the first day of their apprenticeship
    Future prospects

    92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.

    • 20 days holiday, with Bank Holidays in addition. On completion of your first year one day's paid leave is added annually (up to 25 maximum)

    Certain exams are required and you will need to update qualifications regularly. We provide books, test exams, equipment, access to colleagues for advice and pay for the first sitting of any required exams. Any exam re-takes are paid for by the employee.

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour due to rise to £3.70 per hour from April 2018. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
