Past Business Apprentice Profiles:
‘Upon leaving school I had no idea what career path I wanted to take. I didn't enjoy sixth form and was adamant that I didn't want to go to university. It was a family member that works at Perkins who opened my eyes to their Business Apprenticeship opportunity. I applied because I saw the potential to develop myself on a personal, professional and educational level all at the same time. I knew it would allow me to earn whilst gaining the vital work experience and additional qualifications I required to improve my skills and help me progress moving forward. And that it has! I now work within Learning & Development, which is an area I experienced through the scheme, and have a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Management, which I was sponsored by the organisation to complete. Best career move I've made to date. Thank you Perkins!' - Katrina Todd, intake of 2011.
‘I feel that without completing the apprenticeship I would not be where I am today as I have gained so many skills (e.g. communication, confidence, negotiation) and had been given different opportunities to help excel both in my studies and in the workplace which gave me that drive to succeed and push myself to do better. Four years later, I am now a Human Resources Associate leading and working on various projects for the UK. Do something different, you might be surprised!' - Stacey Batterham, intake of 2011.
'With Business Studies being my favourite subject at A-Levels, I knew that I wanted to further my learning once I left Sixth Form, but I wasn't sure on what path I was going to take to do this. I was made aware of the Business Apprentice scheme at Perkins as I was coming to the end of my A-levels. I am very glad that I have taken this opportunity, as I have been given the chance to work within a Global company, where the progression opportunities are endless. Both my personal and work skills have improved since being with Perkins, with the opportunity to improve on these all the time. I would highly recommend this scheme, as it has allowed me to gain valuable work experience and the opportunity to gain further qualifications, whilst earning'. - _ - James Elbury, intake of 2016.
'Throughout my school years I was always uncertain as to what career path I wanted to take. An apprenticeship scheme wasn't something that I initially considered. Upon completion of my A Levels I accepted a place to study Geography at the University of Leeds. Unhappy with my course, and conscious of the expenses that University involves, I made the diligent decision to leave University and go down a different avenue. I came across the Business Apprenticeship Scheme at Perkins and was instantly drawn to the prospect of joining the company. Since starting my apprenticeship, I have not looked back! The scheme has allowed me to gain valuable experience across the company, broadening my business knowledge and aiding my development both on a personal and professional level. I would highly recommend this scheme to anyone wanting a fulfilling and prosperous career! Choose an apprenticeship, choose Perkins. - Jessica Ding, intake of 2016.Things to consider
