Sedgemoor District Council are currently undergoing an organisational wide Digital Transformation. They have an exciting opportunity to join their Customer Access Programme team as an Apprentice Business Process Analyst for two successful individuals who feel they fit this role profile.

All coursework and a majority of the work placement duties will be remote working, especially to start with due to the current pandemic.

They are looking for candidates who have the drive, energy and ideas to help their services improve how they serve customers using modern technology. They'll train you how to map their existing processes, and then propose improved processes that cut out waste and are both better for the customer of the service but also for the services undertaking the tasks involved.

You will need to be a confident communicator with the ability to deliver engaging presentations to senior members of staff. If you see yourself as someone who likes to be at the forefront of innovation as the council undergoes an organisational wide digital transformation then get in touch

Day to Day Duties:
  • This role will enable the individual to complete a Level 4 qualification in IS Business Analysis whilst gaining invaluable work experience in the relevant department
  • The role will be assisting the existing team of Business Analysts involved in Process Redesign projects taking place council wide as part of the Digital Transformation outlined by the Customer Access Programme

You will:
  • Maintain professional study of the Level 4 IS Business Analyst apprenticeship course and associated assignments, including attendance to all required sessions remotely
  • Complete related Business Analysis tasks as part of your work placement to a high standard such as, but not limited to, communication with key stakeholders to access requirements, producing and analysing process maps and producing documentation to support your work
  • Attending meetings where appropriate, taking notes and tracking actions to assist the team of Business Analysts
  • Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of the Councils digital platform and other Technology used
  • To discharge other reasonable duties appropriate to the appointment and grading of the post

  • Experience of using Microsoft packages, specifically Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint and Teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to talk and present to a range of audiences

Desired qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 A levels in related subjects, plus Maths and English GSCE at Grade 4/C or above
