They will be able to design and prepare test plans, conduct software testing and document and report on the results. They will have a good understanding of the software lifecycle and software

Development practices:
  • Once up and running you will be working on several different technology projects but will be supported by an experienced and friendly team
  • Although at the moment most of us are home working, they will always be on the end of a video call or instant message.
  • As a team we already work remotely from one another and have done for some time now - we even work with contractors in Scotland and India so working through daily video calls is already pretty normal for us
  • The most challenging aspects of your apprenticeship will be working from home most days and working on several different large technology projects at the same time.
  • Throughout the apprenticeship, you'll learn how to write and/or run test scripts for projects that are assigned to you, using the latest tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, device emulators)
  • As an apprentice we will teach you about testing methodology and best practice
  • You'll gain an understanding of technology being used to implement the solutions that you'll be testing. (e.g. Dynamics 365, Office 365, Azure, various council systems)
  • You'll also develop sound knowledge in the Software Development Lifecycle, DevOps, ITIL and Agile approaches, processes, and methodologies
  • You'll also learn about the roles and work undertaken in a typical agile development team of which you'll be a key part and that of the wider ICT Teams (e.g. infrastructure, service desk) play in delivering technology services to an organisation
