Herald Motorcycle Company (HMC) are recruiting an apprentice to become our Merchandise Buying Assistant at our HQ in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
In recent years Herald has grown into a cult motorcycle brand with our iconic, retro style of caf?? racer motorbikes. These affordable bikes are growing in popularity with riders and fans eager to show their loyalty to the HMC brand through our T-shirts and helmets. As the merchandise side of the business grows we now need an additional member of staff to help deal with the orders and the administration side. We are looking for a Merchandising Assistant with a Buyer background to help with the administrator tasks in the Sales office. Are you a motorcycle fan with a purchasing background or simply looking for your first step in the motorcycle industry/ on the Purchasing career ladder?
We are ideally looking for someone with previous procurement experience that includes e-commerce, liaising with suppliers and customers, brand promotion and stock control. The plan for this role is to complete an apprenticeship in the first year.
The key responsibilities of the position :-
* Assist on all aspects of the day-to-day running of the business.
* Assisting with the range plan ensuring all info is accurate and up to date to order from.
* Keep abreast of market activity and make recommendations to Manager.
* Bring new ideas and business opportunities to our ever-expanding business.
* Filing and data management - accurate and concise in approach
* Liaising with suppliers
* Monitor competitors, research and present new proposals and provide feedback on current market trends.
* Maintains own working area in a professional and organised manner.
* Always strives to improve the department's operation and increase knowledge of own and related job functions.
* Regularly review online bestsellers and make stock recommendation
* Resolve all warehouse delivery queries within 24hrs
* Regularly update stock adjustment, discount and cancellation records for accurate reports
* Manage visibility of products on website, assigning badges to product, Back in Stock, More Coming Soon etc.
* Provide administrative support as required to support the department.
You will need to have administrator or retail experience with good planning and time management skills. With additional talents for negotiating and influencing, building relationships with key stakeholders and effective communication so any issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
