Our three-year work-based learning programme will see you earning and learning whilst studying towards a Staffordshire University degree in Professional Policing Practice. You'll have a student card and have access to all of the University facilities, as well as the support of a virtual community.
When you're not studying, you will work with police colleagues on rotation across our teams. Daily duties will vary dependent upon your rotation and you will have the opportunity to gain experience as part of our neighbourhood policing, frontline response, and investigations teams.
You will be a part of our policing team from your first day and will be helping to solve some of the most serious crimes and catch those responsible.

Communication skills, IT skills, attention to detail, customer care skills, problem solving skills andanalytical skills.
Personal qualities
Attention to detail, logical, team working, initiative, non-judgemental, patience and be physical able to meet the demands of the role.
Desired qualifications
GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) in maths and English.
A Level 3 apprenticeship or A-Level (or equivalent), worth 64 UCAS points or more.

Future prospects
Once you have successfully completed the three-year police constable degree apprenticeship, you will be posted into a police constable role within the West MerciaPolice force.
