What will the apprentice be doing?
As an Apprentice Software Developer you will have access to a diverse and flexible selection of skills, languages and software. We will aim to fit the work around your strengths and ideas, enthusiasm and creativity are essential for this role! Day to day, the work will vary from database work (such as geographical analysis), web development and designing self service tools for our customers.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
During this apprenticeship you'll learn by working with experienced colleagues and taking part in work appropriate for the stage of your development, plus be able to take advantage of many internal training courses. JBC Skills Training will deliver the Software Developer apprenticeship qualification using a blend of classroom training in Coventry and online, to ensure you are ready to complete the end point assessment for this apprenticeship in your final six months on programme.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
At the end of your apprenticeship we will seek to retain you in a role that befits the skills, knowledge and behaviours attained throughout - subject to performance and a position being available.

Things to consider
Due to Covid-19 precautions, the majority of our staff are working remotely and it is highly likely that you will start this apprenticeship in the same manner. All the equipment you need will be provided to work safely and collaboratively, but please appreciate before applying that this will be a reality for the foreseeable future.
