Duties will include:
  • Assist the site manager with tasks as directed
  • Attend, observe and contribute (when appropriate) site meetings (as applicable) with various people involved in the project including, directors, contracts managers, project managers, quantity surveyors, engineers, subcontractors, architects, design, planners etc.
  • Measure all materials and quantities required for site by analysing drawings and carrying out take-offs
  • Place orders for quantities required, dimensions, location of where to build, type of materials required
  • Carry out snagging -fault finding -across the site
  • Carry out weekly plant inspection checks ensuring all actions are completed accordingly
  • Assist with producing as built chart progress table
  • Supervising site operatives and sub-contractors daily discussing site issues and give advice as required
  • Delegate tasks to sub-contractors and ensure the tasks are managed effectively
  • Produce daily diary on site progress in conjunction with site inspection
  • Produce a site checklist to carry out Health and Safety observations and provide feedback to contracts & site managers to include scaffolding and brickwork
  • Monitor progress to internal or external works
  • Liaise with client on completed site contract and review completed items with department directors
  • Assist with monthly progress reports
  • Training and support other trainee/assistant site managers
  • Finish block for handover
  • Assist with site meetings
  • At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions
  • Other relevant important tasks as requested


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Ability to us Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to read, understand and follow construction plans/drawings
  • Experience of working in a construction/development environment, working in a team, working with subcontractors, managing/supervising etc. would also be beneficial to the role

Desired qualifications

As this is a higher apprenticeship, applicants should hold:Level 3 CIBE or A Levels in relevant subjects to the post.

For the right person a permanent role with the Group. The from Trainee Site Manager to Assistant, to Site Manager, Project Manager etc.

Things to consider

The successful candidate must be flexible with travel and overnight stays.
