Vacancy description:
We are looking to recruit a motivated individual who has a passion for cooking and baking to join our team as a Commis Chef Apprentice. We are looking for someone who wants to join our team and continually strive to enhance individual and team performance.
Duties will include:
- Ensuring your section is properly stocked and you have everything you need for every shift
- Cooking and preparing elements of high quality dishes
- Completing opening and closing duties at the start and end of every shift
- Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards
- Assisting the stock rotation cleaning stations
- Helping with delivering and restocking
- Assisting other chefs in the kitchen
- Preparing vegetables, meat and fish
- Develop a understanding of where produce comes from
- Understand food safety and allergens
- Assisting in the food preparation process
Customer Service Duties:
- Do your part to ensure every customer visit is a great one
- Ensure that customer receive 'hospitality'- understand their needs
- Respond quickly and efficiently to every customer request
- Continually improving standards and quality
- Attention to detail at all times- 'everything matters'
Knowledge:
- Be passionate about your coffee and the way it is served
- Good knowledge of the menu and special items - refresh knowledge every week
- Fully complete and comprehend your 'barman' induction training pack
- Ensure you are all briefed fr each and every shift- specials, availability and recommendations etc.
- Excellent working knowledge of the wine menu, cocktails and all drinks
Requirements and prospects:
Preparation:
- Arrive on time and ready for work, neat, well presented and wearing the correct uniform
- Ensure you are aware of the rota, training scheduled and responsibilities for each shift
- Ensure you are keeping an eye on stock and inform manager if you are running low on anything
- Attend all team meetings
- Be motived and have a positive attitude
Personal Qualities:
- Hard working
- Someone that goes the extra mile-making sure everything is done the way it should be and going out there way to make sure something is as good as it can be
- Always on time and ready for the day
- Ready to learn
- Friendly yet professional
- Able to follow orders but also work using your own initiative
- Can meet deadlines and work under pressure
Health and Safety:
Be aware of all new health and safety processes and procedures.
Things to consider:
- Must have your own transport or the easy ability to travel to and from work
- Be flexible with your working hours where necessary
- Able to work weekdays and weekends
- Be prepared to learn new skills and knowledge whilst you work
