ACS Surveyors are looking for an apprentice Building Surveyor to help support and work on the day to day projects in our chartered practice.

This position is a key area of growth of the business as we expect with training and development the right candidate will start to work on sole projects using initiative, whilst always having support and guidance at hand.

The Candidate will work directly under the support of a Chartered Surveyor and be based at Stockport office, when required to be desk based.

Duties include:
  • In this role you will be out on site with senior surveyors learning every site visit
  • From there you will be back in the office to collate data and results
  • Helping to produce reports for clients
  • When not on site you will act as the gate keeper for the business, responding to enquiries, organising meetings and helping the surveyors run efficiently
  • Working with local authorities and one-off residential clients each day is varied and as such the job skills developed are vast helping support later applications to the RICS

Key responsibilities:
  • General Business Administration roles, respond to initial enquires, via email and phone, liaise with and arrange appointments between client and surveyor, active participation in development and growth of the business
  • Offer support to Building Surveyors on site or through back office support, attend site meetings with clients and follow up with report writing and photographic schedules
  • Prepare Scott Schedules and Schedules of conditions reports
  • Be willing and flexible with the business requirements and the varied nature of the role

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Knowledge of Design Packages, AutoCad, Revit, Sketch-up are bonus but not requirements
  • Microsoft packages and fully IT literate
  • Meet degree requirements outlined by Salford University
  • Friendly, flexible and passionatabout future career

Desired qualifications

  • You will need to have GCSE maths and English at grade C/4 or above
  • You will also need to have qualifications at Level 3 (A-level/BTEC) or equivalent
  • You will need the equivalent of 104 UCAS points (BCC) or relevant work experience that we can accredit

Future prospects

  • We are looking to develop a Chartered Building Surveyor and offer a permanentposition upon completion of Apprenticeship
  • The apprenticeship is seen by ACS as a training program for our future talent in the firm

Things to consider

  • Role is not based at Head office.Location of base is in Stockport with exact office location to be confirmed. Site travel will be from the Stockportlocation, must have own car and own transport
  • We will offer study support times and flexible working when required to assit with educational support
  • The vacancy will involve a varied role, so confidence to speak to clients and stakeholders is key
  • A willingness to learn and develop with the ability to focus on self-learning as much of the role will be lone working whilst based at the office
