The envisaged Degree Apprenticeship role is an excellent entry point into the agency with clear opportunities for progression and additionally provides an entry point into a career into the NFU Mutual, one of the UK's leading insurers. The purpose of the role is to support the growth of the agency and servicing of our clients on our Consumer accounts and on NFU Mutual business and activities. Using your developing knowledge and experience, the role is about using your sales, marketing and communication skills combined with true customer focus in a busy office environment to meet the needs of our clients.

The successful candidate will also complete the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship, providing them with a BA (Hons) Business Management and Leadership from the University of Derby, as well Chartered Manager status, awarded through the End-Point Assessment.

Specialist Support:
  • Manage our client enquiries and servicing needs in a pro-active and positive manner
  • Support the agency team and management with technical skills and experience in the organisation and day to day running of the business
  • Work with our external colleagues to help deliver our agency objectives for growth and target client and member acquisition
  • Undertake all activities in support of the business in line with requirements of GDPR

Sales:
  • Quote for new risks in line with NFU Mutual requirements (both inbound and outbound)
  • Actively identify and target new target clients and opportunities and obtain permission to provide proposals for the agency
  • Generate Life Leads and arrange appointments for the NFU Mutual Financial Consultant

Relationships:
  • Support the team, team supervisor and partner agents to achieve the business objectives and help deliver our strategic plan aims
  • Build strong long-term relationships with the range of target clients through customer-focused activity and standards, including but not limited to proactive renewal management
  • Help deliver a great team working environment through positive engagement with colleagues and respectful approach at all times
  • Have positive working relationships with Agency colleagues, NFU Mutual, Underwriters, Trainers, Sales Consultant and Financial Consultant

Competencies:
  • To gain and maintain technical and sales competencies in accordance with the NFU Mutual Training and Competence Scheme
  • To have sound working knowledge of our systems e.g. Faces, MSD, Sonic, Billing Centre and other key business activity enabling, and support tools as required

  • Being organised with excellent IT skills is essential
  • This role will support the development of and will require you to develop extensive general insurance knowledge and experience
  • We need someone who is fully committed to helping us achieve our growth plans for our Insurance, Financial Services objectives, whilst helping us to deliver a great team and working environment, with a positive and pro-active attitude
  • Be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
  • Be able to problem solve, use own initiative and judgement
  • Self-motivated with a flexible and positive attitude
  • Great customer service skills and customer focus are essential


Personal qualities

We are actively seeking candidates who are keen to learn and who will flourish in a supportive team environment. Self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and customer focus are essential.

Desired qualifications

  • 8 GCSEs, with a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) including English and maths
  • Academic qualifications of at least 96 UCAS points or above at A-level or equivalent
