This is a great time to join the HR&OD team. The Service plays a pivotal role in creating a working environment for our staff which is supportive, stimulating, informative and is a great place to work. With over 1,600 employees across the organisation, Human Resources and Organisational Development helps support the whole employee lifecycle from recruitment, pay and reward, employee relations and learning and development.

As HR Advisor Apprentice, you'll be exposed to a wide range of opportunities to help you develop your HR generalist experience whilst at the same time providing an opportunity for you to make a real impact. During your time with us, you'll be supported to combine on-the-job training with formal, nationally recognised development through completion of the Level 5 CIPD Intermediate Diploma in Human Resource Management delivered by the Staffordshire Business School. We'll also provide you with a development plan to support you in progressing your career.

The HR Advisor Apprentice, will be involved in providing support and advice on a broad range of HR and recruitment activities throughout the employee lifecycle which includes recruitment, contractual queries, flexible working, HR policies and procedures, along with guiding and advising on our sickness absence management process. As part of a small team, in this "hands on" role you'll quickly become the first point of contact for stakeholders seeking advice and guidance on a range of employment issues. Working alongside the HR administration and recruitment team, you'll also support the development of streamlined and digitally focused processes throughout the employee lifecycle.

A proficient multi-tasker with the ability to manage a diverse workload, you will work effectively under pressure within a very busy environment. You will be capable of using your initiative to resolve queries but will know when to seek advice and will work effectively in a team to support colleagues. You'll be an effective communicator who is able to guide and influence managers, providing effective and pragmatic advice and solutions. We need someone who is a team player but who is also capable of working independently. You must be able to build and maintain good working relationships with a range of stakeholders from across our academic and professional services areas. The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in an office, preferably within a Human Resources Environment. Our only other pre-requisite is that you must be ready and available to start work by 18 December 2020 at the very latest and undertake the Level 5 CIPD Intermediate Diploma in Human Resource Management from January 2020 so time is short - apply now for immediate consideration.
