What will the apprentice be doing?
Apprentices will work in all clinical settings, and receive placements in all areas during their training programme. They will acquire clinical skills during their placements and working on non-training days as part of our multi-disciplinary teams within the community. They will acquire clinical skills relevant to the banding at which they are working and deliver independent care to our patients under the supervision of our qualified staff and mentors.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Apprentices will achieve a Level 6 Midwifery degree upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once qualified the apprentice will be able to secure a position as a Registered Midwife.

Qualifications
GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade Grade 4/C and above) Essential
A Level or equivalent 3 including a science (Grade BBC) Essential
Other Evidence of recent study is required (Grade Within last 5 years) Essential
Things to consider
Working conditions: There may be frequent exposure to uncontained bodily fluids and foul linen.
