What will the apprentice be doing?
  • Supporting projects and programmes
  • Provide support to manage risk of project
  • Contract management and procurement processes - including legal and ethical principles
  • Project budgets and finance
  • Produce routine basic information in response to a request
  • Help others in dealing with enquiries from customers
  • Keeping project documentation up to date
  • Taking minutes of project meetings
  • Assist with data input using electronic systems.
  • Administration duties to support project work


What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
  • Gain a qualification: International Project Management Association (IPMA) level D
  • You will attend a training provider on block release. You'll also be allocated a Life Coach who will visit you within the work place assisting you with your studies.
  • Gain a Health & Safety qualification
  • Attend enrichment activities to enhance your awareness and knowledge eg finance, health & wellbeing, disability etc

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
  • Gain a Level 4 Associate Project Management Apprenticeship standard
  • With high retention levels and being a large employer there would be a chance to move onto a higher level apprenticeship or full time employment, gaining support in interview techniques training
  • 2 year work experience in the public sector with exposure to Senior management
