We provide out of hours (OOH) primary care and Extended Access appointments to the population of Cumbria (500,000 people over a land mass of 2,613 square miles), working out of 12 clinical sites. Our core bases are:
  • Kendal
  • Barrow
  • Whitehaven
  • Carlisle
  • Penrith
  • Wigton

We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join us as Call Handlers working from our Head Office in Carlisle.This role will suit caring individuals with a professional and courteous manner and excellent communication skills.Call handlers will ensure that patients receive the right care in the right place at the right time by giving advice and distributing calls appropriately. This is a role where every shift is different.

The Control Room operates 24/7 during the out-of-hours period, and as such the available shifts for the Call Handler role are weekdays, weekends, evenings and nightshifts. Successful candidates must be able to be flexible to working these shifts in addition to bank holidays.
