An opportunity has arisen for the postion of Assistant Medical Secretary, within the Cardiology department at Scarborough hospital.

The main duties will include dealing with queries from patients and clinical staff, including correspondence, using electronic worklists to actively monitor patient pathways and the typing audio typing of clinics and admin.

We are seeking a highly motivated, flexible individual who can work effectively using their own initiative, as well as being part of a team, and are proficient audio typists with the ability to transcribe complex audio tapes and digital dictation.

The successful candidates will possess GCSE English Language grade C or above or equivalent and a relevant typing qualification of RSA II standard, as well as previous clerical/administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare or customer based setting and with knowledge of medical terminology.

The hours of work will be:

Monday - 8:00am until 16:00pm

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - 9:00am until 14:00pm

Friday - 9:00am until 14:30pm

DBS Checks

All new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six month period once you start employment. The charges are currently £27.20 for a standard check and £44.20 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for.

Please note that Volunteers, Bank only staff and Apprentices on the National Apprenticeship Minimum Wage will not be charged.
