Are you an experienced, Multi-Skilled Carpenter~Joiner? Would you be interested in carrying out construction and refurbishment works across Salisbury District Hospital? If so, we have just the opportunity for you ...

The successful post holder will have:
  • Completed a recognised CITB craft apprenticeship in Carpentry & Joinery with completion certificate; a City & Guilds Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery or other equal and approved training which will provide the required level of theoretical and practical knowledge.
  • Significant relevant experience ideally spanning new installation work and refurbishment, preferably in a healthcare or public service setting that will provide an intermediate level of knowledge and give the ability to work unassisted.
  • Good knowledge and experience of associated building trades to use practically on relevant tasks as required. (Ground works, demolition, bricklaying and wet trades).

Due to retirement we currently have two vacancies within the New Works Team. The successful applicants will be working alone and as part of a multi-disciplined team within Salisbury Estates Department. They will be required to work in an economic, efficient and safe manner to improve the facilities for patients and staff at Salisbury District Hospital.

GETTING TO WORK

We offer parking on site at Salisbury District Hospital, a daily charge applies. We encourage our staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible, and our Trust is well connected through the bus services to the city centre and other areas.

If this job requires you to have DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment, you will be required to replay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed in installments from your salary. Many staff use the DBS update service at a cost of £13 per annum but you need to sign up for this via their website.
