The Pharmacy Stores & Distribution team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals provides ward stock medicines top-up and delivery to wards and departments throughout the Trust via the onsite top-up teams.

We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals with drive to undertake the role of Senior Pharmacy Services Assistant based in the Pharmacy Stores and Distribution team at St James' Hospital at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidates must be pro-active and flexible in their approach to working within this busy department, and have excellent organisational skills.

These posts will support the Pharmacy Technician Specialist with the day to day delivery of the Pharmacy Stores and Distribution service, which includes supervision and training of the local Pharmacy Services Assistants on site. This also includes supporting, and working with, the Pharmacy Stores and Distribution Operations Manager and Specialist Technicians with the implementation of service upgrades and new projects as required.

The posts will be based at St James' Hospital Pharmacy Department but will involve working across ALL sites as required, including the Leeds General Infirmary and Leeds Pharmaceutical Warehouse, Hunslet Pharmacy Stores and Distribution teams.

Please be aware that for all posts there is a significant amount of walking and moving and handling, including bulk consignments.

Applicants must already hold Level 2 Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.

The post holder will be required to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays on a rotational basis.

If you are offered a position, you may be required to undertake a DBS. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.
