    Cygnet Hospital Stevenage is a secure mental health hospital comprising six wards ranging from Forensic low to medium secure and acute environments. We work within a purpose built therapeutic environment offering mental health services for men and women where our aim is to promote recovery and work towards independent living.

    In this role you will:
    • Support service users to fulfil their daily living needs with a flexible and diverse approach dependant on individual diagnoses.
    • Undertake safe observations of patients sometimes on a 1:1 basis or with other staff.
    • Work within a ward environment, promoting positive guidance and encouragement through a range of support methods.
    • Maintain a safe, clean and enjoyable environment to live and work in.
    • Assist service users with their medical and welfare needs and report as required
    • Work within Safeguarding guidelines
    • Undertake training in de-escalation and PMVA techniques to support patients with potentially violent or aggressive behaviours towards themselves or others.

    PLEASE NOTE:The higher pay rate of £9.87ph - £10.32phis including enhancements and on the basis you work both days and nights.If you do not work both days and nights, the pay rate is: £8.79 - £9.19ph.
