Post: Specialist (Band 6) Occupational Therapist

Base: Broughton House, Cygnet Health Care.

Responsible for: The post holder will hold an allocated caseload at Broughton house and at some of our Satellite houses in Newark and in Mansfield.

Responsible to: Clinical Lead OT (Band 8) and onsite Service Managers.

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Lincoln, LN5 0SL.

Overview of site: Broughton house and extended services provide residential services for individuals with a range of complex care and therapeutic needs including Autism, learning disabilities, challenging behaviours and other associated medical conditions.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of residents within the service.

In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to individual's diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments and associated risks in order to develop treatment plans & care and support plans.

  • The Successful Candidate should be/have:
    • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
    • Experienced in the field of Autism and Learning Disabilities
    • Sensory Integration Level 2 or a minimum of level 1 with a desire to progress.
    • Working as a Band 6 OT
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a "hands on" approach
    • Able to effectively work as part of a team
    • Excellent communication and time management skills
    • Passionate about student education

    Requirements
    The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
