CNWL (Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust) has almost 7,000 staff providing integrated healthcare to a third of London's population, Milton Keynes and areas beyond. We involve service users, carers, the public, staff and partner organisations in the way that we are run.

Our catchment area spans diverse communities, with over 100 first languages spoken. It contains areas of great affluence as well as areas of much deprivation. We are committed to providing services that meet the needs of the people who use them, and we actively encourage involvement from local people who can help make a difference. We're proud of our diversity and we continue to undertake new initiatives to advance equality for LGBT+, BME and people with disabilities to promote good relations and understanding between our staff.

We are recognised locally, nationally and internationally for providing high quality, innovative healthcare. We aim to employ only the best people, and our experts are frequently called upon to contribute to national health strategy and policy, and many models of our care have been adapted for use in other countries.

We offer a generous relocation package (subject to eligibility assessment) and flexible working options, including bank assignments for most roles. See attached Staff Reward and Wellbeing Handbook detailing our benefits, discounts and wellbeing intiatives for staff.

Become part of our team. We care for you as much as you care for others.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen in Harrow for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to take up the role of Placement Review Officer at Bentley House. We are looking for someone with experience in mental health to work as part of the multidisciplinary teams at Bentley House.

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic team player with excellent communication skills. You will need to have current registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).

You will play an important role in supporting the community hubs to manage a caseload of service users in supported or residential placements. Your role is crucial in supporting service users to develop their independent living skills and amplify their self-management skills. You will provide high quality individual interventions and group work, using assessment tools and recovery principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment. You will also have opportunities to influence practice through supervision of fieldwork placements to OT students.

The community hubs have a supportive management structure and the Placement Review Officer role is highly valued as part of the wider team. You will also be part of the wider OT team in Harrow, which offers a wide range of training opportunities and a diverse supportive network. The Harrow OT Forum provides an opportunity to network with OT's in other services e.g. acute, older adults, Early Intervention, rehab, perinatal and learning disabilities. Together we have a shared vision for OT in Harrow and you will play a key role in developing our progressive team.

We recognise that Band 6's are often the backbone of our clinical teams and we will therefore support their development both clinically and managerially. You will have opportunities to supervise staff, be an educator and have access to both internal and external training.

Come and join us and be one of the friendly and supportive 300 Occupational Therapists (OTs) in CNWL. We work in many different teams in both physical and mental health, as well as a number of specialist areas. You could have a career for life with us and maintain your dual skills.

OT in CNWL is very fortunate in having a long-established professional structure and this includes an AHP director, Trustwide Professional Head of OT, borough and specialist Head OTs. This has the huge benefit of ensuring representation of our profession at all levels - both strategically and operationally.

Personal and professional development is a high priority for the profession and is underpinned by our OT R&D strategy, R&D specialist groups and OT clinical networks. This enables us to invest in the development of our staff by providing excellent internal training as well as commissioning specialised external training and providing quality supervision. This ensures all our OTs reach their full potential at every stage of their career. Our commitment to research, audit and EBP is made possible by our strong links with local universities.

We actively support the next generation of OTs through apprenticeships, student placements and the promotion of the profession as a career in schools. We are proud of the diversity in our workforce but have invested time in supporting and developing this further through our BAME OT group.

If you are an OT who strives for excellent and wants to develop to your full potential then we would welcome your application.

What you will get
  • £2,500 as a "Golden Hello" or up to £8,000 as part of the relocation package (subject to T&C)
  • Thorough induction, regular individual supervision and reflective practice groups
  • Training package to ensure continuous professional development
  • Working within a dynamic team with visibility of the Senior Management Team (Team Manager, Service Manager and Borough Director)
  • A range of staff benefits including "kids pass", range of salary sacrifices schemes (inc for electronic goods and 30% savings on a car), interest free loans and many more (see attached booklet)
  • Streamlined recruitment process

Interview date: 7th December 2020
