Community Covid-19 Assisted Home Testing Team

Location: Eastbourne / Bexhill

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term or secondment of up to 8 months to undertake a Covid-19 assisted home swab testing.

Introduction

This is an interesting opportunity for a health care assistant to undertake a role working within a small community team in response to Covid-19 government testing requirements. The service offered is an assisted home-testing service for niche patients that are unable to access alternative testing routes.

Job Summary

Working with the District Nursing Teams and Operational Support Officers the potholders will be expected to visit patients in their home setting to facilitate the swabbing process. The service operates every day including weekends and bank holidays and covers a large geographical area.

The post-holders will be managed by the District Nursing operational leads/ operational support officers.

Key Qualities/skills
  • To have ability to make decisions/judgments as a lone worker, referring to the Operational leads and or emergency services as appropriate
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload in conjunction with the team
  • Understanding of principles of infection control
  • Up to date clinical skills
  • Ability to work flexibly
  • Basic IT and keyboard skills
  • Car driver

The positions will be for up to eight months based either at either Bexhill or Eastbourne with requirement to travel across East Sussex footprint as required.
