If you are then Layer Marney is the ward for you. We have part time and full time positions available on fixed term basis.

Layer Marney is a 31 bedded respiratory ward, treating patients with acute and chronic conditions. You will gain experience in caring for patients with chest drains and tracheostomies.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic there have been significant changes made within the respiratory services at Colchester Hospital. The ward has a designated ARCU area 7 beds for non-invasive ventilation patients and CPAP. You will gain experience and knowledge in caring for patients with NIV and patients with COVID for CPAP.

If you are excited by the challenges of caring for respiratory patients, have a passion for high standards of clinical care and an innovative and progressive attitude this could be the role for you.

Although respiratory knowledge is an advantage it is not essential.
