Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT)

SALARY: Annex 21 of Band 4

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

2-year fixed term contract starting February 2021 (3 posts)

Qualified rate is £21,892 - £24,157 per annum

Year one salary is 70% of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate, i.e. 70% of £24,157 per annum which equates to £16,909 per annum (at current rates)

Year two salary is 75% of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate i.e. 75% of £24,157 per annum which equates to £18,117 per annum (at current rates)

The Pharmacy Department at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust have three vacancies for enthusiastic, hardworking individuals with good organisation and communication skills to train as apprentice pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians.

Within a department committed to developing and extending the roles of Pharmacy Technicians, this full time two year training programme leads to completing the qualification enabling you to register as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). The successful candidates will study towards the Pharmacy Advanced (Level 3) Apprenticeship.

Within the workplace, you will rotate through areas of the pharmacy department, working alongside our friendly and experienced team. You will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in dispensing, distribution and ordering and being part of the medicines management team on the wards (20% off-the-job training time will be provided). This will include undertaking regular assessments of competence in various areas of the pharmacy which will count towards the final qualifications.

A minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade A-C* including Mathematics, English Language and two Science subjects is required. *Please note you will need to bring certification evidence and copies of these to interview. We cannot interview you without these.
