The Estates Services Department is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible Craftsman with an Electrical engineering background to join a multi-disciplined team providing maintenance to the Trust.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor the successful applicant will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient multi-skilled approach to day to day operational maintenance, fault finding and repair of electrical systems and other specialist plant and equipment found in the healthcare environment. The Craftsman will also be expected to install new works and be willing to undertake duties of other trades.
The candidate will have served a recognised and relevant Apprenticeship and be qualified to at least City and Guilds Craft Certificate level.
The candidate must have a current valid UK driving licence group A (car/van) and be willing to use their own and the Trusts vehicles on Trust business.
You will generally work Monday to Friday but there will be occasions when out of hours work is necessary for which you will receive time in lieu or enhanced rated of pay; flexibility is required to aid the smooth running of the department.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the Estates on-call rota for which additional remuneration is made
Knowledge of NHS systems, publications and protocols would be desirable but training would be provided. We offer a full induction programme to familiarise you with the work and the site, appropriate training where necessary, uniform, NHS pension scheme and opportunity of personal development
