Band 2 - Theatre Support Worker - St Albans

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join a friendly and dedicated team within the St Albans City Hospital Theatre department.

The role is for Theatre Support Workers (TSW). The successful candidates will work closely with the multi-disciplinary theatre team within the Operating department.

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic staff. You will need to possess good interpersonal skills in order to work effectively within the existing theatre teams whilst having the ability to work under your own initiative where required.This role, working as part of the team is varied, interesting and crucial to ensuring a high standard of patient care overall.

St Albans City Hospital has 6 elective surgery theatres in total providing excellence and expertise in a variety of specialities including General, Orthopaedics, Urology, Breast, ENT etc.

The role is theatre based but incorporates interaction with many of our partners such as Day Surgery, patient wards, pathology, pharmacy etc.

The successful applicant will be expected to complete a peri-operative apprenticeship and will be required to carry out a fundamental skills check as part of the interview process. This assessment takes place prior to moving forward to the interview on the day.

Successful candidates will be offered on the job training and support for the role. This role offers the opportunity to develop a range of computer based and communication skills. The role requires attention to detail and an outstanding, positive patient-centred approach as part of the theatre team.
