What will the apprentice be doing?

You will develop your skills and behaviours in the following areas:

Technical knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues working with a range of specialists in (air quality, archaeology and heritage, carbon, climate resilience, contaminated land, ecology, landscape, noise and vibration, water, waste and resource management);
Programme and project management;
Research, information management and report writing;
Contract and financial management;
Teamwork and communication skills.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You'll study at a local University whilst working on interesting and varied projects, combining your learning experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. A dedicated mentor and our learning and development team will guide you through your personal and professional development. We'll give you the chance to develop your technical knowledge, project management, teamwork and communication skills in a professional environment.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The apprenticeship will run over a 5-6 year period, during which time you will undertake a supervised programme of training and block/day release with a local University. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, and subject to your overall performance, there is an opportunity to go onto further study and achieve professional qualifications.
