Everards Brewery Ltd, in partnership with HIT Training and the University of Nottingham, are able to offer a unique opportunity to become a functional brewing team member in a modern and exciting new brewery, while undertaking a formally recognised qualification of Brewery Apprentice.The offering incorporates practical learning of a wide range of skills, covering the process from end to end, in a brewery that is both traditional, but forward looking with opportunities to develop your own recipes as well as gaining an understanding of what makes a successful core range.

Objectives and Opportunity: To produce beer through the use of relevant brewing materials and procedures and process accordingly in readiness for suitable packaging into cask, keg, bottle or mini-keg or for onward transporting for subsequent packaging.

The brewing apprentice role relies on the versatility and flexibility of the individual. Over the course of the apprenticeship, it is expected that the following roles will be trained out and time allocated to gain experience...

You will undergo formal classroom sessions at the University of Nottingham, while being coached and mentored by the Head Brewer and the rest of the brewing team at Everards, in a fantastic new development at the Everards Brewery in Leicester.

SKILLS EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL:
  • High levels of literacy and numeracy
  • Responsible attitude and ability to work
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development

DESIRABLE:
  • Some experience of working in an industrial/production environment
  • A demonstrable interest in technology
  • Experience or understanding of food and drink supply chains


Personal qualities

  • Eager to learn
  • Able to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business


Desired qualifications

  • Essential - GCSEs in maths and English and Science or equivalent
  • A-Levels in maths / Science disciplines (desirable but not essential)
