Pre-Specialist Biomedical Scientist

Diagnostics, Anaesthetics & Surgery (DAS) Division

Eastbourne District General Hospital & Conquest Hospital, Hastings

Biomedical Scientists are responsible for providing a clinical service providing diagnostic information and advice, carrying out analysis and interpretation to support the specialist clinicians in diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease. To do this, they use a range of techniques and processes and utilise the most up-to-date scientific methods and highly complex analytical equipment.

ESHT Pathology is looking to recruit a HCPC State Registered Biomedical Scientist to join our progressive, busy and friendly department. Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals who have a keen interest in furthering their career in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be working towards achieving specialist level knowledge in one or more pathology disciplines and in a wide range of procedures. You will also be maintaining our Quality Management System, required as a UKAS-accredited laboratory.

Pathology is based over 2 sites. The majority of services are based at Eastbourne DGH, with some services running from Conquest Hospital in Hastings. You will be required to travel cross site as part of this job.

We can consider applicants who hold an IBMS accredited degree and who have an IBMS generic portfolio requiring completion.
