The course, which has recently won the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award at the Rail Industry Supplier Excellence (RISE) Awards, provides the perfect opportunity to kick start your career. Year one is the same course content for everyone and from year two onwards, you'll specialise in one of the following rail engineering disciplines: Electrical & Mechanical Engineering; Track & Civil Engineering or Signalling & Telecoms.

Responsibilities include:
- The development of work proposals that properly describe the rail engineering requirements, scope and operational performance targets
- Robust challenges to/from colleagues, making use of their specific rail expertise, in order to monitor and manage the business and technical remit and thereby optimise results
- Manage all rail engineering and development activities so that they are affordable and safe
- The quality, accuracy and timely delivery of work in a railway/safety critical context - proactively identifying solutions to problems and areas for improvement
- Applyingyour expertise in a regulated sector to assess and manage risk to avoid railway asset, equipment, process and systems failures

Desired qualifications
- 112 UCAS points from A Levels or BTEC which must include a Maths-based subject plus another Science/Technology subject, e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science or Engineering (actual or predicted)
- Or completion of a Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship
- GCSE English Language and Maths at grade C or 4 or equivalent
