Looking for a change in career? Or have a change in circumstances and interested in Healthcare?

Ashford and St Peter's Hospital are now recruiting for 'New to Care' Health Care Assistants

This is an exciting opportunity to take a first step into a career in healthcare with a large and progressive acute hospital Trust. Ashford and St Peter's are looking for applicants over the age of 18 who would like to complete an apprenticeship whilst earning, learning and working full time on an adult ward.

Starting on the level 2 Health Care Support worker programme, there are excellent opportunities to develop your career further with access to further apprenticeship programmes involving a dedicated career pathway that could lead onto becoming a Registered Nursing Associate or Registered Nurse, whilst being fully paid with no university fees.
  • Full time is based on 37.5 hours per week working on an internal rotation of shifts including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Your time on the programme will encompass working on a clinical ward along with learning opportunities that include study days, independent-learning and 'on the job' training in the clinical environment.

  • You will undertake a comprehensive induction and training programme prior to joining your new team and full support will be given whilst you undertake the Care Certificate; this will help you to attain the skills and competencies required to be a successful Healthcare Assistant (HCA).

  • If required you will also be supported with functional skills, in English Language and Mathematics. The Trust has a dedicated education team to support you every step of the way.
  • Evidence of previous employment isn't required, however demonstration of good communication skills together with a compassionate and caring nature are essential. As well as a commitment to work in a challenging but rewarding health care environment

Should you be successful in the interview and assessment process, the programme will last a minimum of 15 months, with your start date planned for Spring 2021.

If you think that you have what it takes to work in an organisation where we live our values, please come and join us at Team ASPH!
