Applicants are invited to apply for the exciting opportunity to become Deputy Head of Quality & Commissioning, leading on the quality of education for all healthcare learners across the Midlands.

The successful applicant will be based in either the Leicester or Birmingham office and will lead a dynamic team under the direction of the Head of Quality and Commissioning to provide leadership to all elements of the education quality and commissioning function and ensure visible leadership to all staff.

Working closely with the Head of Quality and Commissioning the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the HEE Quality Framework provides assurance that all learners are educated in high quality learning environments to support the delivery of excellent healthcare. They will also lead on the management of education contracts and agreements with NHS organisations and Higher Education Providers, managing associated budgets and staffing.

This busy and rewarding role will take advantage of the right candidate's ability to build long-lasting internal and external stakeholder relationships and to ensure effective leadership; motivating and developing staff within teams to ensure organisational objectives are met, and will include active development of the local health and social care system to ensure local and national strategies, policies and frameworks are implemented effectively. Experience working at a senior management level and ability to maintain high levels of personal performance are both essential skills needed for this role.

This role offers opportunities for working at a local, regional and national level. A broad range of skills will be needed for this role and HEE is a supportive employer for nurturing development and encouraging talent

Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 8c with a full-time starting salary of £63,751, with a pay step increase after 5 years' service.

These salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.
