Salary Range: H8-H9 £27,741 - £34,728 plus £1000 welcome payment, up to £6000 relocation package and lease car* - terms apply
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Job Duties:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Hertfordshire County Council's Sensory Services, based at Apsley, Hemel Hempstead and Farnham House, Stevenage

Due to expansion, we are looking for a Rehabilitation Officer to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team of 20 including rehabilitation apprentices, whose focus is on enabling individuals with visual impairments, hearing loss and deafblind to achieve optimum control of their lives, through the process of rehabilitation.

Holding a professional qualification in Rehabilitation Studies (Visual Impairment), you will be enthusiastic, proactive individual who can build professional trusting relationships with service users, their carers and other organisations. You will be confident in working closely with service users within the Sensory Services team and autonomously managing a diverse case load.

Using assessment tools and support plans you will work with service users and carers and carry out assessments in the person's own home. You will provide Rehabilitation input by using an outcome focused approach including provision of low vision aids, rehabilitation training in orientation, mobility, and daily living skills.

You will be expected to travel county-wide for meetings and community visits; therefore, a full UK Driving Licence is essential. Also, in the current COVID period, SMART-Working is expected where staff will be working from home or from HCC's COVID-Safe local touchdowns across the county.
