The North of England Commissioning Support Unit (NECS) provides a range of services to Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) across North East of England, Cumbria and North Yorkshire.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for three apprentices to join the NECS Commissioning Delivery Team (CDT) teams, based in North Cumbria and Newburn.

The post holders will be a key contributor to exciting developments, within healthcare, working as part of a dynamic team, providing administrative support to the Commissioning Managers with their various and diverse range of projects, as well as supporting internal corporate administrative functions.

Working towards the level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration, our apprenticeship development program offers an exciting opportunity for you to gain exposure to the corporate environment whilst supporting you alongside formal training and development. The apprentices will gain skills, knowledge and experience in all business administration including customer service, telephone contact with families and professionals, diary management for the team, minute taking, and intranet development for the Commissioning Delivery Team. Your work duties will help provide an understanding of the internal processes, ways of working and governance required for an organisation to function, and your diverse work streams will enhance your knowledge of how we work with our customers to improve health and care service in the population.

You will have a high level of support, a mentor allocated and working with a team to support you to complete the apprenticeship training and plan your career development.The individual will be motivated and enthusiastic, with a high level of interpersonal and communicational skills. The role requires an individual who is pro-active and organised, with good IT skills. You will be fully supported in this post to develop your knowledge of commissioning and project management within healthcare, and to develop your understanding of the corporate functions of the NHS. Essential key skills and knowledge required are 5 GCSE passes including Maths and English, a willingness to learn and to undertake the relevant qualification plus the ability to use IT systems.
