The role
We are looking for dedicated, empathetic, practical but above all hugely caring Nursing Assistants to join our amazing teams across MFT. With a passion for helping others and an ability to demonstrate compassion in your approach to care for our patients, your support and 'hands on' work will offer not only our patients a more positive and reassuring hospital stay, but you individually; great job satisfaction in knowing your dedication and commitment has made a real difference to the people of Manchester and beyond whom you'll be caring for.

At the heart of the ward, you'll form a vital part of the team at the forefront of delivering direct care to our patients by communicating effectively and with compassion and assisting them with their personal needs.

You will need to have an NVQ or Apprenticeship Level 2 in a Health Care qualification or a willingness to undertake a level 2 apprenticeship in Health Care. This is a great opportunity for experienced carers to undertake formal training and an apprenticeship qualification.

The Apprenticeship programme will allow you to learn your skills on the job and through a structured learning programme. The apprenticeship is fully funded and delivered by the Trust and will take 18 months to complete.

If you do not have a level 2 NVQ or apprenticeship your salary during your training will be £17,051.04 and will progress to Band 2 salary £18,005 - £19,337 per annum (salary based on April 2020 onwards figures) upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.

If you do have a level 2 NVQ or apprenticeship your salary will be Band 2 salary£18,005 - £19,337 per annum and you will not be required to undertake the apprenticeship programme.

If you do not have a level 2 NVQ or apprenticeship qualification you'll need to have level 1 functional skills in English and Maths, or be willing to undertake a functional skills assessment prior to an unconditional offer being made.
