Building the present, creating the future
If you are looking for an exciting and challenging career, our award winning Technical Apprenticeship programme could be for you!
Join us as a Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying Apprentice and from day one you will be working with an experienced team and will be able to make an instant contribution to a multi-million pound project.
Your mission
Alongside working on one of our sites across the UK, our apprentices study on a block release basis at Leeds College of Building. Accommodation is provided for apprentices during their study blocks in Leeds and travel expenses are covered by the company.
Apprentices will work towards a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship and will get the opportunity to gain a professional qualification through either the ICE, RICS, CICES or CIOB.
Upon successful completion of the Level 4 programme, many of our Apprentices progress on to a Level 6 Apprenticeship, where they top-up their qualification to a Degree.
What does a Civil Engineer do?
Civil Engineers are construction professionals who make up our site supervisory and management team. They work on large infrastructure projects such as roads, rail and nuclear. Our Civil Engineering Apprentices work predominantly outdoors, turning site plans into reality. On a daily basis, Civil Engineering Apprentices will provide instruction to our skilled workforce using specialist setting out equipment, maintain diaries of site activity and ensure that work is carried out safely in line with the company Health and Safety procedures.
What does a Construction Manager do?
Construction Managers are responsible for delivering building projects such as schools, hospitals and office buildings. They manage a project from conception through to completion. Day to day they are responsible for managing subcontractors, liaising with clients and ensuring the quality and safe delivery of projects.
What does a Quantity Surveyor do?
Quantity Surveyors are part of the Commercial Management team. Commercial Management is the process that deals with the financial and legal aspects of projects. Quantity Surveyors are construction professionals that have a working knowledge of contracts, law, finance, economics, tendering and procurement.
