What will the apprentice be doing?

Through your placements you'llbenefit fromthe breadth and depth of a diverse Mechanical function - from Theoryand Design, to Analysis and Application - you'll get to experience some incredibly niche areas! All whilst working in ourbespoke facilities. You'll be taking your learning at University and applying it directly to your work.

This role would suit someone with an interestin hands on Engineering and a love of problem solving and maths.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Our Mechanical Engineering degree apprenticeship is a 4 year course where you will study towards a fully funded Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, on a minimum of one day release per week, at the University of Hertfordshire.

In your first 2 years you'll get a fixed set of placements, rotating departments to give you a good insight into the basics of Mechanical Engineering in MBDA.

Years 3 & 4 you'll get to pick the placements that you'd like as well as an 'external' placement.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Through regular one to ones, development plans and the use of Mentors, you will have the opportunity to shape your career within the organisation. We have many senior members in the organisation that started life as an MBDA apprentice.
