What will the apprentice be doing?
Manufacturing Engineering is based at our Manufacturing Centre of Excellence. The products we make are delivered directly to the customer/end user and therefore Manufacturing are vitally important to the delivery aspects of MBDAs business.
Working in an open plan environment with state of the art manufacturing facility and laboratories, the duration of the apprenticeship will be focused on Manufacturing Engineering.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
In your first 3 months you'll be in our training room working towards your IPC practical qualifications.
You will then spend the next 3 years working in placements 4 days a week. Your placements will be in different manufacturing engineering teams including:
Circuit Card Assembly
Seekers and Datalinks
Platform Equipment and Cables
Whilst working, you'll study for a Mechanical Engineering degree at Bolton University, on day release for 4 years, which will be funded by MBDA.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
In your final year you will do a 12-month-long placement in the area you will 'graduate' from the scheme into, as a Manufacturing Engineer.

Please note that in order to apply for MBDA UK opportunities you will need to be eligible for SC (Secret Level) UK Security Clearance.
