Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for the aspiring software developer to join a growing team that are revolutionising cycling aerodynamics.

You will help the team complete several ongoing projects and as the apprenticeship progresses migrate from prototypes to more production-level products. You will also design, bring up, and maintain a range of microelectronics

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
  • Assisting on several ongoing projects for a cycling sports-tech device, from Pi-based systems with a range of peripherals bringing in data over UART, to bringing up electronics designs, communicating with sensors over I2C and other protocols
  • Rewrite code from C and C# to embedded C, and build a sensor network using ANT+, Bluetooth, and WiFi and help to implement new algorithms as they are developed
  • You will work closely with two electronics engineers who have supported the above activities to-date
  • Identification of areas of process improvement and solutions implementations
  • Master effective communication with both technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Experience with C (ideally embedded C, but that could be learned) and/or Python
  • The ideal candidate would also be proficient in maths

Desired qualifications

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and maths).
