LIBRARY ASSISTANT

We are looking for someone with a love of books and reading, preferably with previous school library experience, who is able to relate well to children and adults alike and who has the ability to enthuse the school community to read for enjoyment.

Experience of using Junior Librarian and an understanding of the role of the library in a school is preferable, but not essential. More important is the willingness to embrace new technology, be flexible, efficient and well organised with the skills to support children's learning by promoting enjoyment of, and excitement about, reading to foster independent learning and make our library a stimulating learning environment.

The working pattern is flexible but ideally we would like cover in the library for 2 hours a day Monday-Friday. The post is initially fixed term until July 2019 and for 10 hours per week. Pay will be on LPS SS 2, points 3-4 = GBP16,495 (pro-rata as part time).

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to pupils and their learning outcomes.
