This role is for an Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship. You will be working as part of the Riverlands Programme team supporting delivery of our ambitions for the Natural Environment. In exchange for your dedication and commitment, you will receive:

The apprentice will work with the Riverlands Programme team and its individual projects, other teams within the National Trust and sometimes our external partners. They may also work with contractors and volunteers.

Are you an organised person who can work under pressure, lead people and is able to multitask? If so, then a project manager career might be ideal for you. This is a development and learning role equivalent to a Junior Project Manager. We are looking for people who can:
  • Commit to completing the apprenticeship and incorporated qualifications
  • Has good people skills enabling strong relationships externally and internally, to be built and maintained
  • Follow clear instructions given
  • Demonstrate some knowledge of relevant Health and Safety procedures
  • Undertake a range of duties that will help you learn to operate in this role in line with processes and procedures including the National Trust Project Management Framework
  • Work under supervision to agreed work plans and programmes.
  • Organise and prioritise some tasks over others, creating and working to project plans
  • Use their excellent communication skills so that everyone knows what is expected of them
  • Assist in the delivery and facilitation of meetings, workshops, events and other engagement activities
  • Create a budget with support and work within that budget
  • Think on their feet and make last minute decisions to ensure the project is on track when things go wrong
  • Maintain good relations with other departments in the National Trust and our external partners
  • Work under pressure to meet, sometimes, tight deadlines

The position is based at Heelis, our Swindon HQ. You will be part of the programme team and some travel to support related projects across the country may be required.

Desired skills

To apply for this role you will need 3 A-levels (or equivalent) and 5 GCSEs at levels 9-4 (grade A*- C),including maths and English
  • You must be able to undertake the studying and coursework required to complete the course and end point assessment
  • Show commitment to completing the apprenticeship and incorporated qualifications
  • Able to use tools and equipment as required for the role including MS Excel (essential), Word (essential), PowerPoint (Essential) and Project (desirable)
  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
  • Good people skills enabling strong relationships externally and internally, to be built and maintained
  • Full, clean driving licence (as may have to travel betweensites)

Desired qualifications

3 A-Levels & 5 GCSE Grades A-C/8-4 including maths and English or equivalent.
