We are really excited to be offering a fantastic opportunity for new staff to step in to the NHS as a Health Care Apprentice. This is open to anybody of any age who wishes to commence a career in health. This opportunity has the potential to lead you to achieving a nursing registration if this is your dream.

Kettering General Hospital is offering a number of positions for those who can demonstrate that they have a strong commitment to learning, and can demonstrate that they have a caring and compassionate approach in supporting others. In addition, you will be required to exhibit excellent communication skills both verbally and written, and the ability to act with professionalism at all times.

We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised level 2 apprenticeship qualification in Health. The apprentice pathway allows you to study whilst earning and with all your course costs supported.

To be eligible to undertake the level 2 Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship, you must consider the following:

  • There are no age restrictions but we would like you be at least 17 years of age on the interview day (there is no upper age limit);
  • You must have been resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years;
  • Evidence of level 3 learning is desirable (ie A levels / BTEC) / life experience
  • Any higher level training you have completed must be in a substantially different field

Including factual reference, occupational health clearance and statutory and mandatory training record.

If your role requires you to have a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining this (£50).This amount will be reclaimed from your first salary. It is also recommended that following your DBS check you subscribe to the DBS update service.

Please note that news starters with KGH are subject to a six month probationary period.
