As part of your apprenticeship you will learn how to do the following as part of your day to day job:
- Place purchase orders with suppliers, utilising the business ERP system
- Issue requests for quotations (RFQs) to suppliers and collate responses
- Manage supplier order books and expedite deliveries
- Understand and implement lean methodology

Desired qualifications
- 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or higher (or equivalent)
- GCSE English and Maths at grade B/6 or higher
- 3 A Levels at grade C or above or equivalent Level 3 qualification e.g. BTEC at Merit or Distinction. (or predicted grades for those taking examinations in the summer)
- Applicants with HNC/HND or Higher Level qualifications are also eligible for this training opportunity in commercial procurement
Future prospects
- The aim of the apprenticeship is to prepare you for a permanent Procurement & Supply Chain role working as an Assistant Buyer within Defence Systems Technology.We are also committed to supporting further development of our ex-apprentices through further education and technical training
Things to consider
- Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment
- The role will be in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services. This may require you to meet enhanced security and regular screening checks
