Job Title and Grade: Bank Registered General Nurse - RN00 - Band 5
Location/Trust: Outpatients Dept, Stepping Hill Hospital, Poplar Grove, Hazel Grove, Sk2 7JE
Shift Patterns: Monday - Friday (Day shifts). Full time (37.5hrs) and Part time (20hrs) available.
Pay Rates (hourly): Days: £20 Saturdays/Nights: £26 Sundays/Bank Hols: £32 enhanced rates until 31st January 2021.

The Role:

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse who would like to be part of providing better lives for the service users, working in a fast-paced NHS Foundation Trust?

If you answered yes, then we would love to hear from you as we are looking for Registered Nurses to pick up regular bank shifts within the Outpatients Dept at Stepping Hill Hospital.

The post holder is responsible for delivering care & support to patients attending the Outpatients department. You will be directly responsible for the delivery of nursing components of the service both by yourself and the team.

You will assist in the management and organisation of work as required, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times. You will monitor the performance and work of your nursing team and help in the management of the clinical area. You will ensure that Outpatient services are 'patient focused' and delivered on the basis of 'best practice' and follow the Trust Values and Behaviours.

Education and Qualifications
  • Current NMC registration
  • Active live Mentor status
  • Relevant post registration courses appropriate to job description

  • Broad spectrum of clinical knowledge
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Knowledge of delivering healthcare in an OPD setting

E xperience
  • Supervising in the healthcare setting
  • Working in clinical departments
  • MDT working/experience
  • Staff Management
  • Experience within OPD or Clinic Settings
  • Experience in Venepuncture and Wound Management
  • Able to take blood samples

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organise clinics/workload
  • Understanding of audits within clinical setting
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Ability to work effectively with MDT
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to adapt and cope with change
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Stock Management
  • Knowledge of Datix incident reporting
  • Rota management
  • Basic computer skills

  • Able to work differing shift patterns including unsocial hours and weekends
