Band 7 (qualified with experience) / Trainee Band 6

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our emergency surgical unit for a Band 7 Emergency Surgical Nurse Practitioner.

You will need to be flexible and adaptable with excellent communication and organisational skills. Most importantly the applicant must have unlimited enthusiasm and motivation to undertake this new role in the department.

The candidate can be a Band 7 who is qualified in a practitioner role and has the appropriate qualifications and experience.

The post is also open to any staff applying as a trainee at a Band 6. Trainees will undergo a training programme led by the lead Emergency Consultant and the Surgical Clinical Matron and will be expected to complete the 3 year master's apprenticeship course. On completion of this training and evidence of competency this role will progress to a Band 7.

This is a great opportunity to work with a progressive employer which actively promotes education and training. The successful applicant with be integral to the development of the role and the emergency service department.

The applicant will have excellent communication skills and a good knowledge and understanding of emergency surgery and clinical standards.

This role will be full time (37.5 hours per week) and out of hours work may be required as the service develops.
