We are looking for individuals with the ability and attitude to grow and develop into a valued member of our team. Whatever level of skill or experience you currently have, if you can demonstrate drive and potential, our comprehensive induction and in-house training teams will help you to reach your full potential.

We consider part time application (minimum of 23 hours per week), however all applicants MUST be fully flexible to cover a variety of shifts including early, late, long days and nights - as our services operate 24 hours, 365 days a year.


Our supportive induction process enables you to complete your care certificate, find your feet within the organisation, and quickly integrate into our team. We actively support career pathways and your personal development by offering NVQ and apprenticeship opportunities.

UHS is one of England's largest acute teaching trusts and we are delighted to have recently been rated 'Good' by the CQC. In the latest national NHS Staff Survey we ranked;
  • seventh in the country for staff engagement
  • fourth best nationally for our proportion of staff saying that they would recommend the hospital as a place to work or to receive care


We're recruiting HCAs across UHS and will allocate you to your department after successful interview. Please note this does not include paediatrics or women and newborn.

As a Trust we are working hard to keep patients, staff and visitors safe during the present times and as part of this role you may be caring for COVID-19 positive patients or patients who are asymptomatic, but we have the appropriate PPE, procedures as well as our COVID ZERO campaign to keep everyone as safe as possible.
