Information Analyst | Business Intelligence Developer

At BCU Health Board we believe that data helps save lives and improve outcomes for patients. Working with doctors and nurses to understand what matters for their patients, the Information Department has developed analytics that help our clinicians make better decisions and improve their services.

Following a busy year supporting the organisational response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are eager to recruit to four posts. Three of the posts will support our newly formed Business Intelligence Unit - focusing specifically on Covid-19 in the short term, expanding our current analytical capacity and optimising the use of data visualisation software. The team will be founded on a combination of technical and analytical skills - either within or across individuals. Excellent communication skills will be required as the team develops the capability to deliver next level analytical insights to the organisation.

The fourth post will be similarly focused on increasing analytical capability, supporting the reporting requirements of our Emergency Departments as they face increasing demands, changing national submissions and system implementations.

Previous experience of the NHS is desirable but not essential; you must be comfortable working with numbers and people, a logical and analytical thinker, and highly proficient in the use of the Microsoft suite of products. Specific knowledge of Power BI would be beneficial. Above all, you will share our commitment to providing high quality information in innovative ways to support organisational decision making.

We are looking for someone with excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to translate abstract concepts into tangible solutions and the creative vision to design meaningful dashboards. You will have a flexible approach to work with the capacity to work and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.

We offer a full induction and training package, flexible working hours and good future career opportunities. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

If you think this is the opportunity you are looking for to progress your career and want to hear more about joining our friendly and welcoming team then please contact the following for more information.

Closing date: 4th February 2021.
