Jenner & Block are looking for a Helpdesk Apprentice to join their team in London on an 18 month apprenticeship, potentially starting from the 17th February 2021. Due to current restrictions, initially the role will be home based and will move into the office once restrictions allow.

What you'll be doing

As a Helpdesk Apprentice, you will learn how to provide hardware and software support to staff at Jenner & Block.

The Jenner & Block team are dedicated legal professionals who are passionate about doing the right thing for their clients, the community and the profession.

You will be supporting staff at all levels of the organisation, both over the telephone and in-person, so a professional, tactful approach and the confidence to work with senior figures in the firm is essential.

You will learn how to:

- Assess technical issues and determine the best plan of action
- Ensure all calls are logged and prioritised in the helpdesk system and progress notes are added to all calls
- Clearly communicate updates to all involved parties and monitor tickets through to resolution
- Research, offer and document confident, accurate solutions to user problems
- Collate feedback from end users and help to investigate any complaints
- Inform your team and manager of any perceived trends, positive or negative, in calls being received and/or solutions being employed
- Maintain your knowledge of relevant products, current support policies and methods of support delivery
- Assist with IT projects as required

What you'll need

To join Jenner & Block as a Helpdesk Apprentice, you will need:

- A BTEC (or equivalent) in IT
- GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above in Maths, English and, ideally, IT
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, particularly Windows
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Great communication skills with the ability to liaise with unskilled and highly skilled PC users
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- The flexibility to work outside of scheduled hours when required
- The ability to receive constructive feedback and act upon resolutions
- A professional approach and the confidence to liaise with staff at all levels

The successful candidate will be required to complete a background check prior to commencing their role.

Your future prospects

Once you've completed your apprenticeship, you will progress into a full-time position with Jenner & Block, which includes a salary starting at GBP21,000 per annum.
