Get stuck in from the start
You’ll be joining the team who look after our Virgin Media offices and technical facilities. We have almost 700 different sites across the UK, so the work is really varied. Over the course of the scheme, you’ll learn how to manage everything from fire risk assessments to office moves, from catering to security. The aim is for you build up the experience you need to progress into a co-ordinator or supervisor role and ultimately become a facility manager.
Build skills for the future
Working under the direction of an experienced facilities management pro, you’ll develop skills in key areas including:
- Decision making
- Customer service
- Contract negotiations
- Budget management
- Leadership and management of teams and projects
What we look for
Customer-focused, collaborative problem-solvers who can adapt quickly to changing circumstances. A health and safety mindset is critical, as it’s a massive part of the job. You’ll also need to be a great communicator and relationship-builder.

Apprenticeship: Facilities Manager Level 3
Duration: Up to 24 months
Start date: September 2021
Location: Reading-based (operating regionally)
Requirements: 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (level 4-9) or level 2 apprenticeship (or equivalent. Full driving licence with no more than 3 points.
Salary: £19,000 plus amazing benefits. At the halfway point of the scheme you can expect a salary increase to £22,000, and on successful completion of the scheme our apprentices typically move into roles with salaries in the region of £27,000-£29,000.
